Born 1983 in munich, raised in bavaria and france on catholic schools apprenticship as church musician before he was moving 2003 to berlin for litreture and art studies. Since 2005 he has been firstly involved in the nightlift as manager of the legendary „CHANTALS HOUSE OF SHAME“. 2007 „BORDERLINES“ (public reading with figures from the night- and musiclife, set in different places like Kinzo Club, Styx Project Space and now Salon Zur Wilden Renate). 2009 „CITYBOY“ (electro party, will now be restarted in Berghain Kantine and intermittenly in tel aviv). 2010 WAREHOUSE (electronical music meets queer art) at ZMF (Zur Möbelfabrik) 2011 CAMP! (together with Eigk Weber, combines berlin acts with parties from all over the world like „flash cocotte“ from paris or „shabba dabba“ da from london) at Festsaal Kreuzberg.

(CZ) and The Prostitutes (CZ/UK) who is coming only for this event all the way from Prague! There is also Pale‘s new comer, Tracy‘O (FR), who would be

Die Alten Maschinen are Moimir Papalescu, Gerald Casale (Devo) and also indispensable Peter Van Krbetz (PVK) and the other hero of the 80th: Drummer and frontman of The Canadian "Extras" Leon Stevenson.

The album "Songs About Love And Machines released on the 11th 11. 11th 2010 for X Production. Fourteen days after the limited edition digipack, which had traditionally been involved in a top illustrator Adolf Lachman, followed by an album of remixes (including Steve Morell, The Holy Roman, Mid People, Cassette, Ecson Waldes, Tata Bojs and especially former members of the Nihilists Sonja & Hank.) and on Christmas Day will be released in digital form by the second album.

„Hollywood Yourself“, the new single by Berlin music/art duo Nackt and Cherie aka WARREN SUICIDE, is a colourful demonstration of the potential in past, present and future. At the same time, the two songs are a promising representation of their third studio album “World Warren III”, coming out in spring 2011. Assuming from the very straight “Hollywood Yourself” and the galactiv “Moving Close”, we have a lot to expect! Both tracks feature Shitkatapult founder and rock-techno energy master Marco Haas aka T.Raumschmiere on vocals and were recorded live at the Warren Studio “Chez Cherie”. Moses Schneider, well-known for his productions for Tocotronic, Kreator and the Beatsteaks, took care of both songs. Is it the single for the tour or are they touring for the single? Either way, T.Raumschmiere and band are going on tour with Warren Suicide. The whole “Band vs. Electronic, Band vs. Party” idea in general is a concept which all of the mentioned artists work on. But they’re not interested in the boring old-fashioned electro-punk “here we go!”, instead they search for the ultimate level of lust and possibilities. So even before „World Warren III“ is released, we dare say it represents turning away from the duality of techno and rock, towards a third option: it’s different, it’s better, and most of all – it’s neither nor.

UK's award winning electro producers 'Punx Soundcheck ' turn the track upside down without loosing its essence, garnished with the finest of electro tunes that, paired with Johanna Sadonis' voice make up a sung dialogue that will make you dance with pleasure! Luis Miguilez (Glamour To Kill ) added his talent on the electronic version, whilst upcoming photographer Violeta Leiva Martinez did the artwork for the cover. Eine Dokumentation wird erst gar nicht gedreht, weil das Justiziariat sagt, man könne die zu erwartenden Klagen nicht durchstehen. Zugleich: Filme, die nach geltendem Recht verboten sind, können weltweit angeschaut werden – drei Aspekte des selben Themas. Das Symposium „Verbotene Filme“ vom 8. bis zum 10. September 2010 wird sich damit auseinandersetzen, welche rechtlichen Beschränkungen von Filmen es gibt und wie sie sich auf die Produktion, Distribution und Rezeption auswirken.

Noblesse Oblige - Malady - Cover

Two years after the release of In Exile, Noblesse Oblige release their 3rd album Malady, an occult concept album that cites the visual mysticism of Kenneth Anger, Aleister Crowley’s storytelling, and the morbid melancholy of Christina Rossetti’s poetry. The album is the conclusion of an exploration of the occult, initiated by the band’s involvement in Robert Pacitti’s 2009 London Spill Festival Tarot Deck project, for which Noblesse Oblige (in collaboration with photographer Manuel Vason) were asked to visualize their own interpretation of The Lovers Major Arcana card.

Further inspiration was the Voodoo literature by Haitian writer Rene Depestre and readings of field research work by anthropologist E.E. Evans-Pritchard and his studies of witchcraft and magic among African tribes. The aura of these texts and stories have been incorporated in many of the songs while Valerie, who during her teenage years lived on the French Caribbean island of Martinique — one of the heartlands of voodoo practice — worked up her own memories of myths and stories told by the locals, including her voodoo priestess neighbour.
Fittingly, the production of the album also features several exotic ingredients such as timbales, kazoo and ukulele in continuation of the band’s use of world music sounds, mixed with their traditional blend of kitsch and new wave theatricality — for as dark its subject matter is, Malady contains some Noblesse Oblige’s most melodic and poppy moments yet.

It’s a warm, darkly erotic, timeless summer album that catched me and still does as soon as the weather is good in our city. If it is obvious that Noblesse Oblige put their hit at the beginning of the opus with „The Great Electrifier“, what follows is no boredom. On the contrary, they proved that you can still keep the listener on the edge of his seat for a whole album. Just before my two favourite songs, „Equinox“ and „Moonchild“ (...) We fell in love with the summer breeze that surrounds us and all we need is to sit down in the mildness, forget the raw cold air of our dear city. I’m inevitably wondering if it’s gonna go on like this until the end or if something else will surprise me (...) . They celebrate the rite of love and warm darkness. They attire mystical concepts, drift on their „Way to Equinox“ and meet Severin Von Kusiemski in the hot sand where the devil’s ransom hides, all that in the name of the greek god Pan and his flute... We just relax and let them lead us without any resistance. After a first quick listen, one could think that it is the perfect disc for the gothic scene. In fact it is much more thant this. The „true purist gothic scene“ could not consider it as its album since it is much too sunny, even sprinkled with mambo and salsa, and this is good like this! (...) . No! You have to love this album, learn to love it, like the dark though pleasant contemporary times in which we live. Noblesse Oblige went their own way, they moved on and remained honest yet. The question now is to know where this „way to the equinox“ will drive them after this timeless album called „Malady“, which will probably not be considered as it should be before a couple of years. On the second volume of “The Zero Hour” Steve Morell is very honoured to have a very special studio guest in his radio show. He invites Mr. Maximilian Hecker into a two hour lifetime retrospective. He is gonna dive deep with Maximilian Hecker into his roots, to his early years and into his new album as well as in the both gonna present electronic works from Maximilian Hecker which are more or less unknown and unreleased. Steve Morell is going down in a deep talk with Maximilian Hecker about his lyrics and the meaning and deepness of his music. Maximilian Hecker was born in 1977 in Germany & lives in Berlin. His music he discribes his music as “melancholic pophymns”. 2003/2004 he went together with Barbara Morgenstern supported by the Goethe Institute on World Tour. Heckers first Album “Infinite Lovesongs” were voted by the “New York Times” as best album of the year in 2001.

"Maximilian Hecker - I Am Nothing But Emotion, No Human Being, No Son,Never Again Son" Ist die wahrhaftige Krönung seines Schaffens. Ein Album was einfach mal nicht mehr Tiefe haben könnte. Es berührt dich vom ersten Track an. Vom Intro bis zum Hidden Track, welcher meiner Meinung nach einer der besten Interpretationen eines Bob Dylan Stückes ist, die ich jemals gehört habe, ausschalten ist definitiv unmöglich. Es veranlasst den Hörer gekonnt zum nochmaligen PLAY drücken. Habe es im Auto nach Prague gehört und mal einfach 4 1/2 stunden nichts anderes gehört. Es war einfach nicht möglich was anderes anzumachen. Musikalische Arangements und die Lyrics, die Art seines Gesangs und eine perfekt gewähle Aufnahmetechnick auf diesem Album übertreffen einfach sein komplett vorheriges Schaffenswerk,wie tief muss ein Mensch in sich gehen um solche Lieder zu schreiben, um diesen Ausdruck von Liebe, Frustration, Traurigkeit und Glücklichkeit auf einem Album zu vereinen ? Aber trotzdem sind diese Songs so mit Positivität getränken, dass es einem den Atem nimmt und nach dem hören man einfach nur das Gefühl hat,sich damit zu identifizieren. Ein Album was einem auch bei mehrmaligen Hören immer wieder neue Inspirationsquellen zuführt ..Es war das Beste was ich mit meiner Zeit machen konnte, auf dem Weg nach Prague. Respekt an einen grossartigen Künstler welcher sich in einer kaputten & kranken Zeit, selbst immer wieder neu erfindet ohne das es langweilig wird oder er sich untreu wird !

In 2008, Maximilian Hecker reached a point at which he was no longer able to find any satisfaction in his career. He felt that, since the decision he had taken seven years earlier to make music his profession, he had seldom been successful in expressing genuine emotion in concerts or studio recordings. Hecker felt himself to be constricted in a corset of perfectionism and conventions – partly self-inflicted, partly dictated by outsiders. Retrospectively, he explained, that a large part of what he had achieved on stage and in thestudio had been only a rudimentary excerpt of his feelings, that the channel to his soul felt as if it had been obstructed in such recordings and live performances.

The studio work on his last album »One Day« in April 2008 turned into some kind of torture for Hecker; a smouldering, gnawing fear of failure became his constant companion. He lost his voice, meaning that recordings had to be interrupted for weeks at a time. And his seventh tour of Asia that took place in November of the same year turned into an excruciating experience for him: sold-out concerts, the frequently quoted “squealing girls”, but Hecker did not find any redemption for his »death of heart«.

And then there was Nana. Nana, a Japanese prostitute whom Hecker met in Tokyo at the moment he was at rock bottom. This encounter, which was cathartic and traumatic at the same time – described in the song of the same name on the album – heralded for Hecker his »decomposing mode«, as he calls it: in order to »survive«, he started to destroy all the suffocating elements in his environment – he liberated himself from narcissistic demands, stopped shaving, wore jogging pants as everyday clothing, distanced himself from women, even from the idea of finding true love one day. And he began to make street music again, or rather, to »meditate publicly«, up to six hours at a time, just singing if no one was specifically listening to him – for this was the only way to keep open the path to his soul.

And eventually, Maximilian Hecker began to record his new songs at home, shortly after composing them, using the simplest equipment (often only one room microphone). Exposed to all the street noise and »dirt«. Holding on to the moment of inspiration. Hecker’s soul, his pure emotions immortalised on tape.

All rational processes that before had deadened and delayed Hecker’s feeling – such as arranging, determining the instrumentation, writing succinct lyrics (the lyrics on the album derive largely from a stream of consciousness emanating directly from his heart, improvised at the moment of recording) and finally the professional recording – these were eliminated. Just the essence remains: the pure emotion, the pure artistic innocence. This [quote from Hecker] »challenge to the music business« gives Hecker the musical feeling he believed was lost, brings him artistic bliss and the missing identification with his own work.

Wissen Sie eigentlich wie einzigartig Berlins Underground- Musikszene ist? Und dass sie sich nicht nur in Deutschland einen Namen gemacht hat, sondern in der ganzen Welt verteilt Anhänger hat?

Wir sind stolz darauf, diese Szene mit geprägt zu haben und trotz schwieriger Zeiten und der Wirtschaftskrise durchgehalten zu haben. In der heutigen Musikszene ist es nicht leicht kreativ und gleichzeitig erfolgreich zu sein. Nur durch Willen und unserer grenzenlosen Leidenschaft zur Musik haben wir es geschafft nicht aufzugeben und für das zu kämpfen was uns wichtig ist.

Bereits seit 2003 repräsentieren wir Berlins Underground-Szene und schon unsere Premiere von “Berlin Insane“ war ein sensationeller Erfolg, 2000 Party- und Musikbegeisterte sind mit uns durchgedreht. Unsere Hauptacts sind unter anderem auf einem Schiff vor dem Berliner Reichstag aufgetreten und auch 2004 war unser Austragungsort besonders- auf Berlins Volksbühne haben wieder über 2000 Menschen mit uns gefeiert und die Nacht durchgetanzt.
Die ARD verkündete in der RBB Abendschau: „Es war wohl das ungewöhnlichste Konzerthappening was die altwürdige Traditionsbühne je gesehen hat, Aktionstheater ganz im Sinne des Hausherrn Frank Castorf“

Spätestens seit dem steht “Berlin Insane“ für den Inbegriff einer rundumgelungen Party, die einfach nur rockt. Keine Eventreihe hat in den letzten Jahren so viel Aufmerksamkeit erhalten wie das jährlich stattfindende BERLIN INSANE Festival. Von der Vogue über den Tagesspiegel bis zur Welt und der Bild – alle haben sie berichtet. Vom Indie zum Goth zum Hip Hopper zum Technokid – alle sind sie schon da gewesen. Diese Jahr präsentieren wir sie zum sechsten Mal, mit folgendem Line up:

GOTT SEI´S GETROMMELT ANDREW UNRUH ( Einstüzende Neubauten) mit experimentellem und ambitioniertem Percussion-Projekt, VAN RAVESHOT und ITALOPORNO, die mit ihrer brandneuen Single am Start sind, KILL THE DANDIES- Tschechiens neue Hoffnung mit ihrem Debütalbum, MONA MUR&EN ESCH- das Königspaar des Electro-Industrial-Sounds, die gerade ihre Europa-Tour beendet haben und selbstverständlich-ohne Worte...unser STEVE MORELL!

Diese Künstler wollen Ihnen zeigen, dass wir ein neues Kapitel begonnen haben. Aber nicht nur aus diesem Grund ist “Berlin Insane 2009“dieses Jahr etwas ganz besonderes, sondern auch weil sie an einem legendären Ort stattfindet- dem SO36. Wie sie vielleicht gehört haben, besteht die Gefahr, dass diese einzigartige Location geschlossen werden soll- Trotz so vieler Menschen die an dem bekanntestem Punkschuppen Deutschlands hängen und für den Bestand kämpfen.
